The Summer Intensive begins on Monday, June 2, at 10:00 a.m. and concludes on Friday, June 6, with a lunch, wrapping up at 1:00 p.m. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the Summer Intensive begins at 8:45 a.m. with announcements and concludes at 5:00 or 5:30 p.m., with lunch breaks of 1 ½ hours to accommodate writing, relaxation, walks on campus, or catching up on emails or phone calls. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included each day, with dinners on your own. On Wednesday evening, there will be a networking reception.

  • Community-engaged teaching and learning—scholarly foundations, partnerships, case studies
  • Techniques for collaboration
  • Communicating with academic audiences (publishing, conferences)
  • Networking reception

Thursday, June 5

  • Evaluating community partnerships
  • Panel of recently tenured community-engaged faculty
  • Panel of community-engaged students
  • Communicating with public audiences

Friday, June 6 (Summer Intensive ends at 1 p.m.)

  • Small group work—engagement action plans, part 2
  • Individual consultations with outreach and engagement leaders
  • Wrap up conversation and evaluation
  • Lunch
