Xuran Wang, Ph.D., is a data analyst for the evaluation of the Michigan Out-of-School Time Funding (32N) programs. She earned her doctorate in measurement and quantitative methods and master’s in applied statistics from Michigan State University. She manages quantitative and qualitative data, conducts statistical analyses, provides consultation, and contributes to grant proposals, reports, and manuscript development.
Dr. Wang specializes in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Her quantitative expertise includes quasi-experimental and observational research designs, with applications of linear and generalized linear models, multilevel and mixed-effects models, time series analysis, and clustering techniques. She complements this work with advanced qualitative approaches, such as thematic and text analysis, to enrich mixed-methods program evaluations and provide deeper insights. She is proficient in analytic software including R, SPSS, HLM, Python, and Mplus.
Her work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Curriculum Studies and the International Journal of Science and Mathematics Education.
