Marissa Castellana is a Professional Aide for the Child Care Mapping Project within the Community Evaluation Programs. She earned her B.A. in Psychology at Kalamazoo College and M.A. and Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology at Arizona State University. From her doctoral studies, her research expertise regarded how parents, teachers, and policymakers can support young children’s learning, particularly in bilingual contexts. At MSU, she extends this expertise by exploring geographical and socio-demographic patterns related to child care access in Michigan, and she writes manuscripts to disseminate research findings. Her research aims to inform policymakers on the best practices for supporting early childhood development and the accessibility of child care.
