Science advocate Alan Alda pioneered this workshop using improvisational theater exercises to help scientists connect more directly and spontaneously with different audiences. This is not about turning scientists into actors or comedians but helping them engage others and communicate about science effectively with non-scientists. Through a series of highly interactive activities, participants will learn to pay close attention to body language, understand two-way communications, listen with more awareness, and respond to their listeners with greater sensitivity. Participants should bring their own research project ideas.
Workshop space is limited to 16.
