This interactive plenary overviews general principles for crafting short, clear, conversational statements about what you do and why it matters. The workshop consists of interactive presentation and discussion on interpreting technical materials using examples and analogies to illuminate concepts that may be unfamiliar to your audience. Workshop participants will practice clarity in speaking to non-scientists about their work and will come away with strategies for communicating with fellow community members, funders, policymakers, and other scientists.
