Michigan Science Olympiad State Tournament
Science Olympiad is a co-curricular educational program with a mission to inspire the next generation of scientists, health professionals, and engineers. Middle and high school students compete in events pertaining to many scientific disciplines, including engineering, chemistry, biology, earth science, and physics. The Michigan Science Olympiad is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.
Michigan State University has hosted the Michigan Science Olympiad State Tournament on its campus for more than 30 years, and under University Outreach and Engagement’s leadership since 2012. Michigan continues to be one of the largest states in the nation for participation in Science Olympiad, with over 400 middle and high schools.
