University Outreach and Engagement partners with Focus: HOPE and other university partners and community members on the HOPE Village Initiative, “a long-term project aiming to improve the lives of 5,300 children and adults – 50% in poverty – living in a 100 block area in Detroit and Highland Park.” The foci of the initiative are centered on economics, employment, neighborhood networks, small businesses and entrepreneurship, education, and environment.
