MSU Science Festival in Detroit

Since 2011, University Outreach and Engagement and the MSU Detroit Center have hosted an annual MSU Science Festival expansion in Detroit during the month of April, with scheduled activities designed to celebrate and explore the role of science in our everyday lives.  The MSU Detroit Center has partnered with area cultural institutions and community venues to host Ted-style talks, tours, adult science cafés, and hands-on experiences emphasizing science, technology, engineering, art/design, and mathematics (STEAM).  MSU Science Festival-Detroit culminates with an Exposition Day on Belle Isle Park at the Belle Isle Nature Center, Detroit Historical Society’s Dossin Great Lakes Museum, and Belle Isle Conservancy’s Belle Isle Aquarium and Anna Scripps Conservatory.  The events attract over 5,000 participants and volunteers to learn, explore, and celebrate STEAM professionals, careers, and organizations.
