International Alternative Spartan Break (I-ASB)

Alternative Spartan Breaks encourages Michigan State students, faculty, and staff to get involved in the global engagement movement.  Beginning in 2016 I-ASB will begin sending student service trips to partner organizations in Costa Rica.

Students on these service trips will participate in at least 30 hours of service focused on a specific social issue that the community has identified. During this time participants also learn as much as possible about the social issue they address. They will participate in rigorous pre-trip educational programs and extensive post-trip reflection.
