I was born in Detroit and raised in Inkster, Michigan. Growing up, many of my friends and other neighborhood kids did not pursue their dreams. I was really fortunate to have my mother on my side, who encouraged and pushed me to do whatever it took to achieve my goals. It is because of her that I have dedicated my life to being the change I wish to see in the world.

For my undergraduate studies, I attended Eastern Michigan University, where I received a B.A. in communications and a B.S. in psychology (2021). Following that, I obtained a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs (2023). I volunteered with student support programs like the Brotherhood and Sisterhood Scholars at Eastern Michigan University. I also worked as a graduate assistant for the KCP/MI GEAR UP program.

In the work that I have done thus far, I have discovered my passion. I want to be that support for students in the same way that my mother was for me. With my encouragement, I hope that students will be able to explore their possibilities and pursue their dreams. No obstacle or barrier should prevent any student from achieving their goals.
