Erin works as the Democratic Engagement Coordinator with both the Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) and the Office of Student and Community Relations on nonpartisan student democratic engagement. The goal of this work is to increase student participation in the democratic process and support MSU in closing gaps in student voting rates, through voter mobilization and civic education. Erin also supporst the MSUvote Campus and Community Initiative, comprised of faculty, staff, students, and community organizations involved in promoting voter engagement efforts at MSU.

Erin attended Michigan State University for her bachelor’s degree in Social Work and her master’s degree in Social Work. In her professional work, Erin has focused on student engagement and success, global equity, and health access. Erin is currently a student in MSU’s master’s of Global Health Studies program.

Prior to joining SLE, Erin was a graduate student assistant in CCEL and Honors College and held undergraduate positions in CANR and OISS. She has also held positions with the State of Michigan Global Michigan Office and the Refugee Development Center.

In her free time, Erin enjoys reading, hiking with her dog, practicing yoga, and volunteering in the Lansing community.
