Xuran Wang, Ph.D., is a Data Scientist at the Engaged Research and Evaluation Center. She leads data analysis for the Michigan state-funded 32nd Grant OST state evaluation, managing quantitative and qualitative data, conducting statistical analyses, providing research consultation, and contributing to grant proposals, reports, and manuscript development.
Dr. Wang specializes in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Her quantitative expertise includes quasi-experimental and observational research designs, as well as applications of linear and generalized linear models, multilevel and mixed-effects models, time-series analysis, and clustering techniques. She complements these approaches with advanced qualitative methods, including thematic and text analysis, to support rigorous mixed-methods program evaluations and generate deeper insights.
She is proficient in a range of analytical software, including R, Python, HLM, SPSS, and Mplus. Her work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Curriculum Studies and the International Journal of Science and Mathematics Education.
