Usability/Accessibility Research and Consulting

UARC has been heavily involved in the mobile space for several years. In one project, we developed an accessible mobile voting user interface specification for the National Institute of Standards and Technology. In another, we investigated the impact of cognitive load, interactivity, and message length and tone on the perceived attractiveness, usability, and intention to use a mobile website. UARC developed a mobile application prototype for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Corps Lakes Gateway, gathered user feedback, and developed best design practices based on user experience evaluations. In order to understand how the MSU community uses and views mobile technology and social media, we have conducted the MSU Internet and Technology User Experience Survey since 2011. Additionally, UARC conducts accessibility and usability evaluations for consulting clients.
