MSU is one of the three research university partners (along with Wayne State University and the University of Michigan) involved in the development of the ULLC with community partner Focus:HOPE. The vision of the collaborative is to be the platform for the HOPE Village Initiative, where local knowledge and university resources mesh to create innovative solutions to community challenges. MSU continues to support this effort through core team participation, solicitation of faculty research projects, recruitment of MSU student interns and fellows, and infrastructure development. Currently in the funding phase of the project, future efforts will involve implementation team development and advancement of community-university research projects.
