Christie Schichtel, LMSW, is an outreach specialist with the Center for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement. Schichtel came to MSU with a variety of professional experiences, working with both institutions of higher education and community-based organizations. At MSU she supports faculty, community partners, and students in community engaged learning experiences. She also coordinates Reflection Circles and advises MSU Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. Schichtel received her master’s degree from the University of Michigan School of Social Work and her bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and a licensed social worker in macro practice. Schichtel volunteers her time as a crisis advocate with the MSU Sexual Assault Program and with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
