Carla J. Hills is the University Outreach and Engagement communications manager. She serves as the UOE media contact for press and media inquiries, and is the UOE representative with MSU Communications and Brand Strategy. Hills implements integrated communications and marketing strategies for UOE projects, partnerships, collaborations, and events; coordinates the Outreach and Engagement Awards and Recognitions Program; and, is the editor of The Engaged Scholar E-newsletter. She is a gubernatorial appointment to the Library of Michigan Board of Trustees, and served as a member of the Michigan Voter Identification Statewide Task Force. Prior to joining UOE, Hills worked for a small weekly Michigan newspaper, the Michigan State Senate, and as an independent consultant for local, state, and federal issues.
